e-Nagar

Gujarat is recognized as one of the front-runners in the implementation of crucial e-Governance infrastructure, policies, and projects. The state is guided by the principle of "Think Big, Start Small, and Scale Fast." The core pillars of Gujarat's e-governance initiative are Responsiveness, Transparency, and Accountability.

At the State Level, eNagar Portals have been developed to offer online citizen-centric services to urban local bodies. The eNagar project offers a comprehensive array of services to citizens, including Shops and Establishment registration, Marriage registration, Building Permission requests, Professional Tax payments, Hall bookings, Property Tax submissions, Estate Management inquiries, Fire & Emergency services, Complaints and Grievances submissions, Water and Drainage services, etc., all supported by online payment gateway facilities.

The eNagar project has revolutionized the interaction between citizens and the administrative system. Now, irrespective of their location, citizens can access end-to-end citizen-centric services through the e-Nagar portal. Citizens can submit applications, make payments for required fees/taxes/charges online, and obtain registrations/certificates. The project's goal is to provide a unified platform for establishing a common Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure managed by the State Government.

This centralized solution aims to deliver a cost-efficient, time-saving, transparent, and scalable web-based citizen-centric service for Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Additionally, existing applications from various ULBs can be tailored to integrate with this centralized platform.

1. Objectives
   • To establish a cost-efficient, time-efficient, transparent, and scalable web-based citizen-centric service and back-office support system that can be easily customized and replicated in all municipalities across Gujarat.
   • To facilitate access to all Government services for the common man through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency, and reliability in service delivery to meet the basic needs of the citizens.
   • To enhance citizen services through efficient, responsive, and transparent eGovernance systems that streamline the approval process and revenue realization timeframe.
   • To standardize e-Governance solutions across different ULBs using interoperable technology platforms that support forward and backward integration.
